Enterprise projects allow students
to apply what they have learned in class to real world situations. In
preparation for successful careers, students need both technical
skills, which they gain through application of animal science
coursework, and transferable skills like communication, team building and conflict management
skills. Every student in the animal science department stands
to benefit from an enterprise project. Participation
in at least one project is recommended. Students learn
basic animal handling skills and production practices in the beginning
laboratories and
are able to apply and expand these skills on enterprise projects.
