The rangeland resources minor is a new addition to the curriculum of the animal science department. The minor was developed cooperatively with the animal science department and the earth
and soil sciences department. The minor allows interested students to expand their horizons by exploring the role of rangeland resources in the agricultural economy and the natural environment. Cal Poly has participated in a number of research projects studying the effects of grazing on the environment. Many of theses projects are ongoing and the department is always working to develop new studies. Both undergraduate and graduate students work on the projects, gaining invaluable experience in the field of rangeland management.
