For the past 15 years, Cal Poly has provided internship opportunities at the National Meat Association Convention for approximately six students. Interns assist the NMA staff for the duration of the convention. Students are provided with invaluable networking opportunities while learning more about current events in the meat industry. The National Meat Association Foundation also provides scholarships to animal science or food science students with an interest in the meat industry. Scholarships are $2,500 and for the past two years, between seven and nine scholarships were awarded to students.
