Beef Course Offerings

ASCI 221 - Introduction to beef production provides students with an introduction to the beef animal and the beef industry. This course cover topics related to industry characteristics, breeds, market classes, production systems, and current issues facing the beef industry.

ASCI 311 - Advanced beef cattle systems provides students with an in-depth look at managing a beef operation. This course covers management practices of a commercial beef enterprise; local, national and international economic trends; principles of selection, basic reproductive physiology, breeding systems, range management, nutrition, health programs and marketing phases.

ASCI 329 - Principles of range management, allows students to gain competency in managing rangeland for grazing livestock.
